My Favorite Coffee
I’ve always loved coffee. My dad use to proudly announce to everyone that he started all of his kids drinking coffee by age 3. I drink coffee from when I wake till I go to sleep. I am rarely found without a cup of coffee at my side.
But for all that I drink coffee, I never became an expert in coffee. I know the basics, such as store unground beans in an airtight container kept at room temperature; robusta beans are the cheaper beans, arabica the better; cold water makes for the best results. Just the basic information the normal consumer would have, maybe a tiny bit more.
While on a trip back to my hometown of Anchorage, Alaska I was served a great cup of coffee on Alaska Airlines. After checking their little magazine I found out it was Seattle’s Best brand. It was so good that I even ordered my 11 year old son a cup. He drank it and not only liked it but asked for another cup. Coming from him that’s a big mark of approval, as he has never taken to the family habit of drinking coffee.
When we got to Anchorage I promptly had my nephew take me to the local grocery store to pick some up. I ended up making everyone try this coffee while I was up there visiting. My nieces and nephews, my step mother, brothers and sisters, all the in laws, everyone who came near me was handed a cup. I honestly had never been this impressed by a cup of coffee since Starbucks Breakfast Blend.
I treat myself to a 12oz bag of Seattle’s Best Seattle’s Best Blend every time I can budget it in. It’s a nice medium roast, with a strong but not overwhelming flavor. There’s no bitterness to it and it’s nice and smooth. It isn’t oily like some coffee’s. Their signature blend is nice in the morning or after dinner.
